Application for Her Story: A Movie-making Workshop for Young Women

Final assignment (Short movie/documentary making): May 24th to June 10th 2017

Her Story is a week-long residential movie/documentary making workshop for young women (16 to 30 years old). It is going to be organized in Dhulikhel Village Resort from 18 to 24 May, 2017.

20 young women will learn about the various aspects and techniques of movie-making including but not limited to script writing, cinematography, editing, direction, story selection, and acting from renowned experts from the Nepali movie industry. Following the workshop, the participants will work in groups to produce 4 short movies/documentaries which will be screened amidst a closing ceremony.

The program is being supported by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S.Department of State and administered by World Learning through a cooperative agreement. Therefore, all the travel, accommodation, lunch expenses of the participants will be covered by the organizers.
The selected participants, however, will have to pay a commitment fee of Rs. 3,500/- which will be returned to them after the workshop in the form of movie/documentary making grants.

Only 20 participants will be selected for the workshop.
